Semester Intern - 2012
A graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Environmental Policy and Planning, Courtney worked on the Charlottesville Tomorrow team as a semester intern during February-July 2012. In addition to her duties as a regular staff writer, Courtney combed the papers every day for new cvillepedia articles and explored her new city on weekends.
What makes Charlottesville-Albemarle special to you?
I think that this community demonstrates a lot of contradictions. It is urban and rural, metropolitan but conscious of the environment, a college town and a city. It is a unique place to live and I am enjoying my time here.
Best part of working at Charlottesville Tomorrow?
I like that working here enables me to learn about people and places in the community while at the same time being able to help record what goes on in this area and of course working in the Downtown Mall.
Ultimate Charlottesville Saturday?
So far I have enjoyed breakfast at Bodo's, walking through the Downtown Mall and hiking a few of the trails. I know I'll discover more fun things to do the longer I live here!
