More about the exhibits:
Main Street Project:
The Main Street Project began as an idea of long time artist, graphic designer, and photographer, Vincenzo Lupinetti. Vince, who originally trained and worked in New York, has been photographing in the Charlottesville area for approximately twenty years recording a unique perspective of the region. Vince asked Steve Wilcox, a relatively new artist and photographer to collaborate on the project. The initial project started with the two walking Main Street from east to west agreeing upon spaces to photograph with the intent of showing two artist viewpoints of the same space.
As the two artists worked on the project several building renovations took place with a several existing buildings eliminated and replaced with new ones. As Main Street continues to evolve it is a microcosm of additional and continuous changes through out the city of Charlottesville and surrounding Albemarle County.
Emancipation Park Design Exhibit:
A project of the UVA School of Architecture, the exhibit will include several student made proposals for the design of Charlottesville's Emancipation Park.
