Should UVA consider other locations for officer weapons training?
Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at noon

A number of residents in the Milton and Glenmore neighborhoods are expressing concerns about increased noise from the University of Virginia police shooting range along the Rivanna River east of Charlottesville.  The police have used the facility for at least the last 30 years, but neighbors say recent modifications to improve safety, and heavier use, have both contributed to the range being an even noisier neighbor.

UVA says it has tried to work with the neighbors and dampen the noise.  They note the range is essential for office training and that building an indoor facility is beyond their budget.
