How should Charlottesville handle restaurant tents?

The City of Charlottesville has new design guidelines in place for seasonal restaurant tents and 4 local restaurants learned recently that their existing tents, if left up for more than 5 days, are now in violation of the guidelines. The Commonwealth Restaurant & Skybar tried to rectify that situation by submitting an application to erect their Skybar tent. The design was not well received and the restaurant owner requested a deferral of his application.

How do you think Charlottesville should handle restaurant tents?

Be thoughtful Please review tent applications carefully following the new guidelines in the City of Charlottesville.	Be more permissive Allow a greater number of tents to facilitate local business requests.	No tents I don't think we should have any tents for more than 5 days (what's allowed for special events).
