City, county officials nix Austin trip

Charlottesville and Albemarle County officials are no longer going to Austin, Texas, next month.

The trip, organized by local travel agent George Benford, would have cost taxpayers more than $9,000 and would have sent county Supervisor Kenneth C. Boyd, two county staffers, city Councilor Dede Smith, Mayor Satyendra Huja and two Charlottesville staffers to the Texas state capital in late February.
