Charlottesville mulling fee for CARS ambulance rides

Free ambulance rides in Charlottesville could be nearing their end.

The City Council is scheduled to decide Monday whether to approve an ordinance allowing the volunteer Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad to charge for ambulance services. Otherwise, the squad can’t legally bill for rides. It’s unknown when bills might land in mailboxes.
