Law enforcement and rescue personnel from all over the country are gathering in Crozet this week to pool their resources and learn more about unmanned aircraft systems — better known as drones.
Piedmont Virginia Community College and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management partnered to hold the 2017 National Unmanned Aerial Systems Drone Summit at King Family Vineyards in Crozet. The three-day conference was set up for professionals in law enforcement, public safety, search and rescue, emergency services and disaster relief who use or want to use drones as part of their operations.
