Usually, the renaming of a piece of public property is a routine matter. Most people don’t really care.
Not so in Charlottesville.
And we’re not talking about the Lee Park issue.
Standing in the shadows of that controversy is another debate, this time over the renaming of the federal courthouse.
The first bill presented to Congress by new 5th District Rep. Tom Garrett would name the courthouse after the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
