City officials address concerns at budget forum

The city councilors and staff members who were present at a sparsely attended Charlottesville budget forum on Wednesday were able to provide definitive answers to most of the public’s questions.
Some details, however, remain murky about a proposal to spend $510,000 to increase the city’s so-called Living Wage to $13.79 an hour.
Following the meeting, Assistant City Manager Leslie Beauregard said that the estimated cost of increasing the effective minimum wage for city employees could increase in the coming weeks.
