Kmart's closure is set to create a void in the Charlottesville retail market

People who regularly shop at the Kmart in Charlottesville because of its convenient location and relatively inexpensive prices are bristling at the news of the store’s looming closure.
Particularly for those who use public transit to visit the 50-plus-year-old big box store on Hydraulic Road, its closing means they will have to find somewhere else to shop, possibly further out in Albemarle County.
