Albemarle schools to use $20k grant to fund study of historical, societal significance of monuments

As controversy around Charlottesville’s Confederate statues grips the area and localities nationwide face decisions about how the lightning-rod monuments should be addressed, Albemarle County schools are taking an opportunity to have students lead discussions about the significance of monuments.
The county school division was awarded a $20,000 grant through the LNRG Innovators Challenge to explore the topic.
