Kessler files for Unite the Right anniversary rally permit

The man who organized the large white nationalist gathering that spiraled out of control before turning fatal in August has filed for a permit to hold a similar two-day event in Charlottesville next summer.

Jason Kessler, the “pro-white” activist who led the Unite the Right rally earlier this year with other figures of the so-called alt-right movement, applied Monday to hold another rally on Aug. 11 and 12, 2018, to protest against “government civil rights abuse” and to memorialize “the sacrifices made by political dissidents” at a rally in Emancipation Park.
