Del. R. Steven Landes, R-Weyers Cave, has introduced several pieces of legislation specific to Albemarle County, including a bill that addresses the revenue-sharing agreement between the county and the city of Charlottesville.

HB1148 says that all economic growth-sharing agreements between localities that last longer than five years shall contain a provision that allows any party to the agreement to call for a review of the agreement once every five years, and that agreement shall contain a provision allowing a locality to end the agreement if a majority of the members of the governing body of the reviewing locality vote to end the agreement.

It also says that any such agreement that has been in effect for at least 10 years as of July 1 shall be subject to renegotiation if requested by one of the parties to the agreement, and that the parties shall negotiate in attempt to reach a new agreement.
