Charlottesville Tomorrow's Underwriting Policy

  • Charlottesville Tomorrow reserves the right to accept or decline any underwriting or sponsorship offered.
  • Charlottesville Tomorrow will decline to accept underwriting that it knows or believes to be misleading, inaccurate, fraudulent or illegal, or that fails to comply, in Charlottesville Tomorrow’s sole discretion, with its standards of decency, taste or dignity.
  • Political advertising will not be accepted, especially for local elections.
  • Charlottesville Tomorrow maintains a clear separation between news and underwriting content.  Underwriting that attempts to blur this distinction in a manner that, in Charlottesville Tomorrow’s sole judgment, confuses readers, will be rejected.

This policy language is taken from similar guidelines developed by ProPublica.
