Comprehensive Plans

Virginia law requires every locality to create a Comprehensive Plan to guide "physical development of the territory within its jurisdiction." This plan must also be reviewed every several years.

The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors adopted an updated plan in June 2015. Charlottesville is currently undertaking a review of its plan with a goal of having it updated by the summer of 2018.
