1st Annual High Bridge Ride for Alzheimer’s Research Takes Place in Farmville, VA on April 21, 2018 starting at the Third Street Brewing Company

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, bicycle riders of all ages are invited to join the High Bridge Ride in Farmville, Virginia to help raise money for Alzheimer’s research. The ride will be headquartered at the Third Street Brewing Company in downtown Farmville and will take place along the High Bridge Trail.

Riders will check in at the headquarters starting at 8 am and will start to head out at 9 am when sponsored rest stops open. “We are really excited to be working with the Third Street Brewing Company for this event,” says High Bridge Ride organizer, Bob Stroh. “Mark Kernohan has been incredibly supportive, as have all of our sponsors.” Stroh says that three sponsored rest stops will make the ride fun for all levels and ages. “Benchmark Bank, Centra Health, and Performance Bike Shops will be our rest stop sponsors and we are thrilled to have their support. For those riders who want to get in their Metric Century ride, having well supplied rest stops is fantastic.”

Music, food trucks, and sponsor tents at the Third Street Brewing Company, and shops and restaurants in downtown Farmville, will ensure a great day for riders and their friends and families.

Riders, volunteers and donors can sign up through the High Bridge Ride website, http://highbridgeride.weebly.com, and use the website links to sign onto the High Bridge Ride Team through Alzheimer’s Association “The Longest Day” tm. Riders do not have to donate to ride but are encouraged to donate a minimum of $50 to Alzheimer’s. Those riders who fundraise $100 or more will receive a free High Bridge Ride t-shirt with the ride logo. The top three fundraisers will each receive a gift basket at a 1:00 pm ceremony at the Third Street Brewing Company. “We hope to raise a significant amount of money for critical Alzheimer’s research,” says Stroh, whose personal connection to Alzheimer’s is his wife’s diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer’s. Rider sign-up and fundraising before the ride is strongly encouraged.
