Active Aging Fair Returns to Senior Center

The Senior Center will host its 14th annual Active Aging Fair on September 22 from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. The fair will showcase the resources available in the community to help seniors live life to the fullest.
Throughout the afternoon speakers will present information highlighting best practices for healthy and active aging. Charlie Mas, Client Service Manager for Barrett-Johnson & Associates, a private wealth advisor practice of Ameriprise Financial, will discuss creating income for retirement. Dr. Brandy Patterson, Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at UVa, will address taking care of your heart as you age. Krista Carter from The Laurels of Charlottesville talks about best practices for safely staying active, and Elizabeth Meade Howard will discuss her new book, Aging Famously: Follow Those You Admire to Living Long & Well.
Over 40 vendors will be on site providing demonstrations and handouts, along with Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie’s food truck. The active Aging Fair is sponsored by Barrett-Johnson & Associates and The Laurels of Charlottesville.
