Albemarle County Seeking Citizen Members for Board of Directors of Broadband Authority

Are you or someone you know interested in serving as a citizen member of the Board of Directors of the proposed Albemarle Broadband Authority? If so, keep reading!

The Citizen Member(s) of the proposed Albemarle Broadband Authority Board will serve as voting member(s) of the Albemarle Broadband Authority. In this capacity, items involving funding for broadband, broadband deployment guidance, partnerships with private service providers and/or other localities, and overall operations of the Albemarle Broadband Authority, will be part of the overall responsibilities.

While the exact Albemarle Broadband Authority meeting times and places are not set at this time, it is anticipated that the Albemarle Broadband Authority Board of Directors will meet monthly at the County Office Building at 401 Mcintire Road in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Board of Supervisors will review all applicants and appoint one or more citizens to the Albemarle Broadband Authority Board of Directors. This is tentatively scheduled to occur during the May 3, 2017 regular Board of Supervisors meeting.
