Details on disbursement to be released Monday
The Charlottesville Area Community Foundation on Friday announced that more than $2 million has been raised for its Community Emergency Response Fund. More than 150 people and organizations have donated, including two anonymous donors, Bama Works Fund, the Batten Family Fund, the Adiuvans Relief Fund, the Quantitative Foundation, Wells Fargo, the Tremaine Family Foundation, the United Way of Greater Charlottesville and Charlottesville and Albemarle County. The fund was announced on March 13.
Financial payments will be made to households experiencing hardships due to COVID-19 in the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle, Nelson, Louisa, Fluvanna, Greene, Orange and Buckingham counties. On Monday, CACF will announce details on disbursement. CACF will partner with Cville Community Cares, the local United Way, Charlottesville and Albemarle to disburse funds.
Additionally, CACF will make grants to community based organizations providing basic assistance — including food, housing and medical supplies.
