On his first day on the job, interim Charlottesville City Manager Mike Murphy appointed John Blair as the new city attorney.
Blair, 40, is deputy county attorney for Albemarle County and also has worked for Spotsylvania and Dinwiddie counties and the cities of Roanoke and Danville. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and has an undergraduate degree in history from UVa.
“I view it as an opportunity to work with the City Council and staff to help shape the city for the better,” Blair said when reached by phone on Wednesday.
