Republican Cindi Burket is a candidate for the special election for the Scottsville District seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. Four of the six seats on board will be determined in the November 5 election. Other candidates in this race include: Jane Dittmar (D).

Bio: We have lived in Albemarle County since 1997 and it has truly become home. Serving Albemarle County as a Supervisor would be an honor. I am hard working and will approach every issue with purpose and common sense. I believe in transparent government that encourages citizen participation. I am also a proponent of thinking outside the box and will not shy away from the difficult issues. Finally, I believe our collective prosperity is dependent on rational yet responsive growth management principles and a fiscally responsible government.
Education: B.S. in Law Enforcement and Corrections from Penn State University; Master’s in Public Administration from George Mason University
Occupation: Professional Volunteer
Previous political experience: Chair of the Albemarle County Republican Committee, President of the Albemarle Charlottesville Republican Women’s League, ran for Albemarle County School Board in 2011.

Other interests and experiences: I love to read, knit, play the piano and sing. I have a love of history and knowing how things work. I have been a volunteer for various charities and organizations over the years and have enjoyed being of service to the community.
