Charlottesville planning commissioners are uneasy about the impact of the proposed Hogwaller Farm, causing the project to hit a snag after getting approval from Albemarle County last month.

The Planning Commission deferred action on a rezoning and special-use permit for the urban farm after a joint public hearing with the City Council on Tuesday.

Developer Justin Shimp asked to postpone action to schedule a work session with the commission.

“I don’t want to rush to the end here and not do it right,” he said.

The proposal includes two multi-story apartment buildings and reserve space for farmland, a greenhouse and a commercial farm stand.
