After a tumultuous week punctuated by infighting, the Charlottesville City Council still has not named an interim city manager, and an announcement won’t come until at least Monday.

The decision was initially expected to be made by July 20 but was delayed after Mayor Nikuyah Walker posted on social media, expressing her disagreement with the favored candidate, later revealed to be Sidney C. Zemp.

On Friday, Walker accused councilors of questioning her involvement in the hiring process because she is a temporary employee of the city’s parks and recreation department.
