Members of the public gave input on what they wished to see in Albemarle County’s planned Biscuit Run Park at a Tuesday meeting.
Along with representatives from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, staff from the county parks and recreation department addressed questions and concerns and gave a timeline for the planning process.
The county signed a 99-year lease with the state in January for the park, which covers about 1,200 acres. It had initially been rezoned for about 800 acres of residential development and 400 acres for a park, but after the Great Recession, the state bought the property in December 2009 and a three-phase master plan for a proposed state park was adopted by the state in 2013.
