PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT CHARLOTTESVILLE/ALBEMARLE MEALS ON WHEELS.
Bank of the James will sponsor a 5th Street Station Fall Frolic Block Party on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at their 5th Street Station office at 225 Merchant Walk Avenue in Charlottesville. Area restaurants and local businesses including Wegmans, Basil, Jersey Mike’s, Fuzzy’s Taco, Nestle Red Panda, Krispy Creme and Three Notch’d Brewing Company will have tents displayed in the bank’s parking lot and will be offering tastings of their favorite foods.
Other local businesses including Dicks Sporting Goods, PetSmart and Hand and Stone Spa will be on hand with displays and activities for all to enjoy. The bank’s mascot Jimmy Bird, will be at the block party to take photos with adults and kids alike. There will be a Cornhole tournament among teams to see who will take home the first 5th Street Station Cup and of course, no festival would be complete without door prize raffles and there are some great ones available.
Philip Gould, Branch Manager of the bank’s 5th Street Station office, commented, “In addition to giving the Meals on Wheels organization a donation from Bank of the James, we decided to invite our neighbors and patrons here in the shopping center and throughout the community to join us for a fun block party to celebrate The Meals on Wheels organization and to continue to make their mission known throughout the community.” Proceeds from the Cornhole tournament and the raffle will be given to Meals on Wheels. The public is invited to attend.
