Brad Sheffield (D-Rio)

Democrat Brad Sheffield is a candidate for the Rio District seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.  Four of the six seats on board will be determined in the November 5 election. Other candidates in this race include: Rodney Thomas (R).

Bio: Brad Sheffield has dedicated his career to planning for the interactions between transportation and land uses.  With that perspective, Brad focuses his career on transportation development, supporting sustainable growth and community connectivity.  He has 15 years of experience working in public and private positions supporting communities like Albemarle County.  He has worked on projects ranging from regional transportation planning and transit projects, to urban community design and rural land preservation.  He is passionate about helping communities foster the traditional characteristics that make places great to live, work and raise a family.

Education: Graduated from Patrick Henry High School, Associate’s Degree in Science from J. Sargent Reynolds Community College, Bachelor’s Degree in Planning from University of Virginia, and Master’s Degree in Planning from University of Virginia.

Occupation: Asst. Director at JAUNT

Previous Political Experience: None, I have only served on the staff side of political discussions and decisions.
