On Sunday, members of the Albemarle County Fire Rescue and the Charlottesville Fire Department will gather at Monticello High School to commemorate the 21st anniversary of 9/11 with their annual stair climb event.
Anyone who wants to participate can join the firefighters at the football field at 8:30 a.m. The group will begin the climb at 8:46 a.m., the moment the first tower was struck, and continue the ceremony with moments of silence at “significant time points from that day in 2001,” according to a news release.
