The Charlottesville Area Alliance (CAA), a group of organizations supporting an age-friendly community, are hoping to learn what activities those aged 65+ like to do in the community, what may be getting in the way of that, and what things they’d like to do but haven’t been able to find.
This information will help senior-focused organizations in the Charlottesville area think about what they’re offering now and what residents might be looking for. CAA wants to address accessibility in the community and help seniors in the area connect back into Charlottesville social life as the pandemic allows.

About CAA:
To lead the way for an age-friendly community locally, JABA, The Center, JAUNT, OLLI, the Alzheimer’s Association, CvilleVillage, Hospice of the Piedmont, Westminster Canterbury, Hospice of the Piedmon, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, AHIP, Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Albemarle County and Charlottesville, Fluvanna County, and others have joined together to form the Charlottesville Area Alliance.
The Alliance will focus on the impact of buildings and outdoor spaces; transportation; housing; social participation; civic participation and employment; communication and information; and community support and health services to promote an age-friendly community.
Through evaluation, planning, education, advocacy, and engagement, the Alliance hopes to create a community that fosters happier, healthier residents of all ages. New partners are always welcome!
