Charlottesville Night Out – Aug 7th

CHARLOTTESVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT & FOUNDATION HOST 2ND ANNUAL CHARLOTTESVILLE NIGHT OUT

The Charlottesville Police Department will host its 2nd Annual Charlottesville Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, 5:30-8:30pm at the IX Art Park. This is an annual community-building campaign, sponsored by the Charlottesville Police Foundation, which promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie as we strive to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. Public safety is a partnership between the police and community, and this event seeks to engage all neighborhoods, organizations, and local businesses in the community to promote a safer quality of life for all our citizens, visitors, and the greater Charlottesville community.

For this year’s Charlottesville Night Out, we will have food from Mission BBQ, Uncle Maddio’s Pizza, and Benny Deluca’s, and a Kona Ice Truck will hand out cool treats. Entertainment will include music by a local DJ, face painting, a dunk tank, and a bounce maze. Businesses, organizations, and neighborhoods will be setting up stations with information and give-aways for the public. And of course, many of our CPD officers will be on hand to meet and spend time with people in the community. All of this is free to the public.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization of local citizens who help provide our police with the tools, training, and outreach assistance they need to do their best work. The Foundation supports the Charlottesville Police Department by providing resources for innovative programs to improve public safety, such as the Charlottesville Night Out. Visit our Charlottesville Night Out for more information about this program and our fundraising drive.
