City Council Appoints Three New Members

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA – At its regularly scheduled meeting tonight, the Charlottesville City Council voted to approve three new Planning Commission members and reappointed a previous member whose term expired at the end of August. Jason Pearson, Executive Director of Green Blue Institute, Michael Osteen, Architect with Osteen Phillips Architects, and Hosea Mitchell, Director of Varian Brachy Therapy will replace departing members Karen Firehock, Kevin O’Halloran, and Craig Barton. Planning Commission Vice Chair John Fink was reappointed by Council for another term. Chairperson Firehock and Planning Commission member O’Halloran four year terms expired at the end of August. Commission member Barton resigned from the Board for personal reasons. No new Chairperson has been chosen by the Planning Commission to replace Firehock. New members join current members Cheri Lewis, Mike Farruggio, and Bill Lucy.
