Independent Diantha McKeel is a candidate for the Jack Jouett District seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.  Four of the six seats on board will be determined in the November 5 election. Other candidates in this race include: Phillip Seay (I).

Bio: I have been a resident of Albemarle County and the Jack Jouett District for 37 years, serving 16 years on the School Board in various leadership positions, including key committees with the Board of Supervisors. I offer experienced leadership in Albemarle County’s government and educational system and familiarity with the Capital Improvement Program and the annual budgetary process.

My experiences shape my guiding principles: inclusiveness, closing the opportunity gap, environmental protection, sensible use of taxpayer dollars, funding infrastructure and transportation, and citizen safety. My highest priority is for our citizens to have responsible open governance, recognizing their concerns and opinions.

Education: B.A., Bridgewater College (sociology/elementary teaching certification); LPN licensure, UVA; Certification of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP)
