March 1, 2016 Dual Presidential Primary Election Information

A dual Presidential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, to nominate the Democratic and Republican candidates for the office of President of the United States. The names of the candidates for the Democratic and Republican Party nominations for the office of President of the United States will appear, respectively, on the Democratic and Republican ballots in all Albemarle County voting precincts. Voters will be required to choose to vote either the Democratic or Republican ballot, and may not vote both ballots. In addition, voters choosing to vote the Republican ballot will be required to sign a statement declaring, “My signature below indicates that I am a Republican.”  For more information regarding this statement, please contact the Republican Party of Virginia at: . The Deadline to register to vote in this election is Monday, February 8, 2016, at 5:00 p. m. Voters are strongly encouraged to inquire before the registration deadline if they wish to check their voter registration status. Absentee voting for the March 1 dual Presidential primary election begins Thursday, January 14, 2016.
