Extra Holiday Patrols

Extra Patrols – Downtown Mall

With the holidays approaching and an influx of foot traffic on the Downtown Mall for the shopping season the Charlottesville Police Department will be adding overtime assignments for extra security in the area of the Downtown Mall. 

These additional officers will be working uniformed positions providing high visibility extra patrols on the Downtown Mall to ensure everyone enjoys their holiday season while shopping or enjoying the other establishments.

The hours for this assignment will run from 5pm to 10pm each night.  Two additional officers will be working each night from December 15th to December 30th (excluding Sundays).
