For The Wounded 5K (4TW5K) Seeks Non-Profit Grant Applications

The For The Wounded 5K (4TW5K) is an annual foot race, sponsored by the University of Virginia Foundation. The race, which has grown to one of the larger local races, occurs at the University of Virginia Research Park on the first Saturday of June (this year June 4th). Over the first five years, the race has raised over $500,000 for wounded warriors and military veterans.
The UVA Foundation funds all administrative costs for the race. During the first four years, all money collected went to the Wounded Warrior Project. Last year, based on feedback from supporters, the Foundation donated a portion of the funds raised to a number of local/regional non-profits supporting wounded warriors and/or military veterans living in our area. We are pleased to continue this support of area non-profits with the 2016 race.
If you are associated with a non-profit that directly provides programs and services to benefit wounded warriors and/or military veterans at no cost to their constituents in the local area (to include the City of Charlottesville, and the counties of Albemarle, Augusta, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, and Nelson) then we highly encourage you to apply for a grant (up to $10,000) from the 4TW5K. Applications are due by March 1st, 2016. For more information, and to apply, go to:
