Rivanna District Candidate Marcia Joseph

WINA AM 1070’s Charlottesville Live morning program is inviting all of the candidates running for the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors to come on the radio to share their background and priorities.

On August 1, 2007, Keswick resident Marcia Joseph was their guest. Joseph is the chair of the Albemarle County Planning Commission, and this November she faces incumbent Ken Boyd for the Rivanna District seat on the Board of Supervisors. Joseph, a landscape architect and certified planner, moved to the area in 1984 and has served on the Planning Commission for the past four years. She says she’s been thinking of running for many years, and is taking the plunge now to give the community another choice.

“When you look at who is in public office, you think, I have a different idea of how things should go,” she said. “There were a lot of issues that maybe I had voted different on then the Supervisors did, and instead of being advisory, I’d like my vote to count.”

Highlights:

2:05 – Joseph describes why she is running

4:50 – Joseph on infrastructure needs in Albemarle County, such as sewer upgrades for Albemarle Place
