Live Arts Announces New Producing Artistic Director

Charlottesville – Today the Live Arts Board of Directors announced that Bree Luck was selected from her position as Interim Managing Artistic Director to the position of Live Arts Producing Artistic Director. In this position, she will lead all artistic, operational, financial, and administrative operations of Live Arts. In making the announcement the committee highlighted that their search, beginning in September 2016, selected Luck from a pool of 50 national candidates. The committee was guided by over 700 volunteers and supporters that commented on the attributes they thought important to lead a community-based volunteer-driven theater with a wide-ranging program of high aesthetic value.

Bree Luck has demonstrated the talents necessary to implement the vision of the Live Arts Board of Directors. She has held various positions in the theater since 2004 including Artistic Director of Offstage Theatre, Charlottesville, VA., Education Director of Live Arts, Charlottesville Va., Speaker Coach, Charlottesville, VA., Director, Voice Project, Troy, VA., Casting Director, National Geographic Television, Los Angeles, CA., and Director of Outreach, Light House Studio, Charlottesville, VA. These diverse accomplishments and her relationships in the community will enable Live Arts to continue their mission of Forging Theatre and Community.

I’m thrilled that Bree is our new Producing Artistic Director – she is just what this company needs” commented Live Arts President, Norm Oliver, on the announcement.
Bree assumes her new role immediately and stated, “I look forward to expanding the reach of our company, by creating more opportunities to tell stories that compel, excite, provoke and entertain.
