Ann Mallek announces re-election campaign for Albemarle Board of Supervisors

Ann H. Mallek
(D) announced at a press conference Thursday that she was running for re-election to a second term as the
White Hall District
representative on the
Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
. Mallek, a Democrat, was elected to her first term in 2007 and she currently serves as chair of the board. She does not currently have a declared challenger for the seat.

In her announcement, Mallek highlighted four areas of accomplishment during her first term: her citizen representation and outreach, specifically numerous town hall meetings; completion of the Advance Mills Bridge replacement; improvements to the county’s Economic Vitality plan; and the land use taxation revalidation process.

The general election takes place November 8, 2011 and local political parties will officially nominate their candidates between April 28, 2011 and June 14, 2011. Independent candidates have until June 14 to submit the necessary petition signatures to get on the ballot. The Rivanna and Scottsville District seats will also be on the November ballot.
