Albemarle supervisors name new county attorney

The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors have unanimously approved Greg Kamptner, deputy county attorney, as the new county attorney, effective June 1.
The decision was made in closed session during the supervisors’ Tuesday meeting.
Kamptner, who has been with the county since 1995, will take the place of outgoing County Attorney Larry W. Davis, who announced his retirement on Jan. 8. Davis, 61, served as county attorney for 22 years and has another 13 years of service with local government agencies in Virginia.
