First phase of massive proposed development passes ARB muster

Brookhill, a multi-use development planned for northern Albemarle County that could become the largest in the area, took another step forward Monday when the county’s Architectural Review Board approved an initial site plan for the project.
In November, Albemarle’s Board of Supervisors approved a request to rezone the three parcels from single-family residential to Neighborhood Model district, which allows for a maximum of 1,550 residential units and 130,000 square feet of non-residential on the combined 277.5 acres. The board also approved a special-use permit request for grading activities within the floodplain for improvements to Polo Grounds Road.
