Amenities for future park in western Albemarle debated
The Daily Progress Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 9 p.m.
During a public input meeting about the Western Park master plan update, the Boy Scouts of America-Stonewall Jackson Area Council threw its hat into the mix of ideas for future park amenities.
The group, which serves 20 localities — including Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the Shenandoah Valley — is looking for a place to build a new Scout center.
The land was given to Albemarle County through a proffer during the development of Old Trail. The initial Western Park master plan, completed in 2009, included amenities such as a pavilion, a playground, trails and an amphitheater.
