Haas tries to enter role with fresh eyes

On Friday mornings after long School Board meet-ings, Matt Haas said he likes to go on school visits as a way to destress from the night before.
On one recent Friday, Albemarle County schools' deputy superintendent picked three elementary schools in the urban ring for his visits.
At each classroom or multiage learning space he stopped at, Haas, whom the children would have to bend their necks to look up and see when he's standing up, kneeled on the ground or took a seat amongst the students, listening in as they were given their assignments.
