New PVCC programs aim to fill health care shortages

Piedmont Virginia Community College will offer new and updated health professional programs this fall, after learning of a need for specialists at local hospitals.

PVCC created associate’s degrees in radiography and sonography when the University of Virginia Medical Center and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital asked. Now, the hospitals are requesting employees with specializations in those fields.
