Albemarle reassessment average belies reality

While property values across Albemarle County rose by 2.2 percent on average in recent reassessments, the increase was spread unevenly between rural, residential and commercial properties, according to the county assessor.

Assessor Peter Lynch presented detailed information on this year’s reassessments to the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday.

The county mailed 2018 assessment notices to property owners in late January.
