Charlottesville, Nashville high school choirs record song written by Parkland students

During a recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee, choir students from Charlottesville High School recorded a song in solidarity and support of students in Parkland, Florida.

The track, “Shine,” initially was written and performed by Sawyer Garrity and Andrea Pena, students at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where a gunman killed 17 people in February.

The song speaks of hope and resilience in the face of tragedy and was performed live at the D.C. March for Our Lives protest.
