Albemarle School Board shows disappointment in potential bond referendum restrictions

Disagreements over bond referendum restrictions punctuated a short Albemarle County School Board meeting Thursday.

The Albemarle Board of Supervisors previously has made it clear that it won’t support the full $145 million the School Board requested for the division’s five-year capital improvement plan, which includes projects at various schools and funding for a Virginia 2022 high school center.

At a meeting Wednesday, the Board of Supervisors voted to support potentially putting up to about $59 million in projects in a bond referendum this fall.
