Biscuit Run Park
OVERVIEW
Biscuit Run is a future county park that resides in a stretch of untouched wilderness between Route 20 South and Old Lynchburg Road. The park is currently in the infancy of its development, with the county’s action to assess the property and begin planning for access and use beginning only within the past few months. Work is planned to continue for the next few years, and when finished the park will be a hub for hiking, mountain biking, and other forms of outdoor recreation in a beautiful nature area that is close to home and easily accessible.

Parks and Recreation also aspires to form a fully functioning volunteer corps, dubbed ‘Friends of the Park’, within the couple of months to allow those interested to help assess, develop, and maintain Biscuit Run.
In short – the park will be made a reality through the engagement of the community.
GOALS
Fostering a timely and efficient completion of Biscuit Run Park by inspiring community members to get involved in the development process.
Whether a monetary donation or working with the volunteer group, citizens’ participation in this process is greatly appreciated and is integral to making the park the best it can be for its users.

Monticello High School Seniors Coleman Savage, Amaya Gibson, Mia Huff, and Jillian Jacobson undertook a year-long CAP (Citizen Action Project) Project to become experts on and then advocate for a public policy topic (Biscuit Run Park).
