Deal allows Albemarle school sites to be advertised for cell towers

Albemarle County Public Schools has a marketing agreement to advertise school sites to wireless carriers as places to locate facilities such as cell towers.

The school division signed a 10-year master marketing agreement in March 2017 with Milestone Communications, a wireless infrastructure company that partners with school, municipal and utility landowners to build wireless facilities, that allows the company to market ACPS locations to wireless carriers as possible cell tower locations.

Milestone Communications has worked with the school division to build a cell tower at Albemarle High School and is in the process of trying to get another tower approved at Western Albemarle High School.
