Consultant discusses search for city manager

Charlottesville residents say they want the next city manager to have experience and get out into the community to tackle issues.
The City Council held a public hearing Monday on its search for the next city manager.
The council was joined by Renee Narloch, president of S. Renee Narloch & Associates, the Florida-based firm the city has selected to lead the search process. The company is working on a $25,000 contract.
The firm is seeking a replacement for Maurice Jones, who left in July after the council announced it would not be renewing his contract. Jones was among several high-ranking city officials to resign or be fired following the Unite the Right rally.
