North Pointe heads to public hearing May 10th

North Pointe is a proposed development along the Eastern side of US 29 North just past Forest Lakes North and the Airport and Proffit Road intersection.  The Board of Supervisors is holding a public hearing on this project this Wednesday, May 10th, starting at 6:00 PM at Burley Middle School on Rose Hill Drive.

While Charlottesville Tomorrow is not advocating a position for or against this development, we are an advocate for public participation in major rezoning requests like this one.  This 264 acre development will bring about 900 new homes and over 500,000 sq. ft. of additional retail space in an area of Albemarle County designated for growth.  Whether you live in the City or the County, you can share your opinion with the Board of Supervisors by sending them an email to BOS@ .

For those who would like to do some additional homework on this project before the public hearing, I would like to draw your attention to the following resources:

You can also add a comment to this weblog posting sharing your view of the development.
