Photos: Martha Jefferson illuminates Lights of Hope

On the evening of May 4, Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital was rimmed with light. The bulbs outlining the main hospital were installed as “Lights of Hope” that will shine daily as the COVID-19 pandemic continues “as a sign of hope for the community and a reminder of community solidarity,” hospital officials said in a news release.

Hospital officials ask community members to place lights or candles in their windows or outside their homes as their own lights of hope, donate to the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund, donate personal protective equipment or other supplies and/or leave notes of gratitude to medical workers at
